Vol. 1 No. 2 (2026): UPU Journal of Sustainable Development

The Uganda Pentecostal University Journal of Sustainable Development (UPUJSD) is pleased to announce its second issue, dedicated to advancing research and discourse on actionable sustainability. This peer-reviewed issue provides a vital platform for scholars, practitioners, and policymakers to share empirical research, innovative case studies, and critical analyses that address the most pressing sustainable development challenges in Uganda, East Africa, and beyond.

ThemeFrom Policy to Practice: Localizing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Uganda

This issue will prioritize contributions that bridge the gap between policy frameworks and tangible on-the-ground implementation. We particularly welcome submissions that offer interdisciplinary perspectives and context-specific solutions for advancing the SDGs in Uganda.

Topics of Interest (include but are not limited to):

  • Sustainable agriculture and food security in the face of climate variability

  • Harnessing renewable energy for rural development and energy access

  • Climate change adaptation and mitigation strategies (e.g., addressing water scarcity and climate risks to infrastructure)

  • Social entrepreneurship and community-driven development models

  • Sustainable urban planning and resilient infrastructure

  • Gender equality, social inclusion, and poverty reduction

  • Technology and digital innovation for sustainable development (e.g., Sustainable Development and Artificial Intelligence)

  • Legal and governance frameworks for sustainability, including subsidy reform for biodiversity protection

Submission Guidelines:

  • Manuscript Length: 5,000 – 8,000 words

  • Style: APA (7th edition)

  • Language: English

  • Review Process: All submissions undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review.

  • Originality: Manuscripts must be original and not under consideration elsewhere.
